Ryan Feltner Finds Form In Rockies 8 2 Victory

Ryan Feltner Finds Form in Rockies' 8-2 Victory

A Rocky Start

Ryan Feltner's season began with a rocky start, posting a 6.58 ERA in his first four starts. However, the young right-hander has turned things around in a big way, allowing just two runs over his last 15 innings pitched.

Feltner's turnaround is due in large part to improved command of his fastball. He's throwing his fastball for strikes more consistently, and he's also getting more movement on the pitch. As a result, hitters are having a much tougher time squaring up Feltner's fastball.

Dominating Performance

Feltner was dominant in his start against the Padres on Saturday. He allowed just two hits and one walk over six shutout innings, striking out eight batters. It was Feltner's first career start in which he allowed three or fewer hits and no runs.

Feltner's performance on Saturday was a major bright spot for the Rockies, who have struggled to find consistency in their starting rotation this season. If Feltner can continue to pitch like this, he could be a key part of the Rockies' rotation going forward.

Keys to Success

So what are the keys to Feltner's recent success? Here are a few things that have helped him turn things around:
  • Improved command of his fastball
  • More movement on his fastball
  • Better pitch sequencing
  • Increased confidence

Feltner is still a young pitcher with plenty of room to grow, but he has shown that he has the potential to be a very good starter in the Major Leagues. If he can continue to pitch like he has over his last few starts, he could be a key part of the Rockies' rotation for years to come.
